WEST CHESTER, PA — Fred Beans Automotive Group has amplified its commitment to local educational initiatives, contributing a robust $500,000 through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. This figure marks a two-fold increase from last year’s donation, underscoring the company’s dedication to fostering educational excellence in its community.
The funding benefits a range of organizations that offer scholarships, innovative school programs, and educational services. Twelve recipients were each awarded $25,000, while four organizations received a generous $50,000 each.
Among the top-tier beneficiaries is the Hepatitis B Foundation. Dr. Chari Cohen, foundation president, highlighted that the EITC funding enables two remarkable learning opportunities for high school students, including a countywide summer program at the Blumberg Institute research labs and an advanced placement chemistry class. “These excellent programs provide students with a passion for science an unparalleled hands-on experience,” she said.
The substantial increase in this year’s donation was made possible following the Pennsylvania Legislature’s approval of a $150 million increase for the EITC and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit programs. Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group, expressed pride in the company’s longstanding involvement in the EITC Program. “For over a decade, we’ve recognized the many benefits of directing funds back into the community to specifically support education,” she said.
Victoria Dow, director of the West Chester Public Library, also lauded the impact of the EITC funds, noting a significant boost to the library’s Summer Reading Program. Meanwhile, Michael Celec, executive director of the Bucks County Audubon Society at Honey Hollow, confirmed that support from Fred Beans helps inspire a deeper understanding and love of the environment in hundreds of children each year.
Since 2011, the Fred Beans Automotive Group has contributed a commendable $3 million to the community through annual participation in the EITC Program. This year’s significant increase in donations reflects a heightened commitment to educational initiatives, enhancing the learning landscape for students, and fostering a brighter future for the community.
