WAYNE, PA — Family HVAC recently reinforced its commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship by attending the EPA A2L R-454B Refrigerant Educational Changeover Conference. Held on January 9 at Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Casino, the event brought together industry leaders, manufacturers, and EPA officials to address the shift toward R-454B refrigerant in heating and cooling systems.
The transition to R-454B represents a pivotal step in the HVAC industry’s efforts to lower greenhouse gas emissions. With a significantly lower global warming potential (GWP) of 465 compared to R-410A’s 2088, this next-generation refrigerant aligns with global climate initiatives like the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. The industry began phasing out R-410A this year after over two decades as the standard.
Family HVAC demonstrated its proactive approach by learning best practices for the adoption of R-454B. Key insights from the conference include managing the phaseout of R-410A systems, optimizing the installation and maintenance of R-454B systems, and leveraging federal and utility rebates for customers.
“Attending this conference solidifies our commitment to providing our customers with the latest, most efficient, and environmentally friendly HVAC solutions,” said Farell Shuster, Owner and Operator of Family HVAC. “We’re not only prepared for this transition—we’re leading it.”
By staying ahead of regulatory changes and advancing sustainable technology, Family HVAC confirms its role as a leader in delivering cutting-edge, eco-conscious comfort solutions.
