KENNETT SQUARE, PA — LCH Health and Community Services is extending its reach into West Chester. On November 29th, the organization hosted its inaugural health screening event at the Westside Community Center, marking a significant step in its expansion.

LCH has a strong presence in Chester County with health centers in Kennett Square, West Grove, and Oxford. The organization offers comprehensive services, including primary care, women’s health services, pediatric care, dental services, behavioral health, social assistance, and telehealth for adults and children.

Throughout the summer and fall, LCH visited several locations, including the Lighthouse Youth Center, South Mill Champs, Cochranville, Pathstone, South Mill Champs Oxford, and the Avon Grove School District, to conduct community health screenings. These events provide community members with a chance to discuss their health status with LCH’s clinical staff. Bilingual team members attend each event to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.

Kate Wickersham, Director of Development at LCH, emphasized the importance of overcoming barriers that prevent people from seeking healthcare. “We find that the best way to overcome those barriers is to visit people right where they are,” Wickersham said. “Whether that is at work, at school, or at some other place where they feel comfortable, we are going to come in and be a welcoming face of healthcare.”

The recent screening event at the Westside Community Center offered around 20 community members the opportunity to meet with LCH providers. Both adults and children received general physical health exams, and were able to ask questions and learn more about the healthcare services available through LCH.

Ryan Enns, Executive Director of Westside Community Center, praised LCH’s efforts, saying, “Promoting healthcare is one way that we can encourage our neighbors to take care of themselves so that they can serve their community. We welcome LCH and their commitment to improving the health and well-being of underserved individuals in West Chester.”

LCH is actively seeking healthcare access partners throughout West Chester and southern Chester County. Employers, school administrators, and community center leaders who are interested in hosting a health screening event at their location are encouraged to reach out to LCH.
