WEST CHESTER, PA — The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) has announced the promotion of Terri Edgar to Chief Branch Operating Officer. Edgar, who has dedicated more than 30 years to the YMCA, will oversee the management of branch operations, including key community programs like childcare, after-school enrichment, summer camps, and youth programs. She will focus on maintaining vibrant, safe, and welcoming spaces while aligning operations with the organization’s strategic goals.

Previously Senior Vice President of Branch Operations, Edgar’s career with the YMCA began as a lifeguard at a Delaware branch. Over the past 13 years, she has played an instrumental role at YGBW, showcasing her unwavering commitment to the community and ensuring that all residents have access to its services.

“Terri is a strong champion of our mission to strengthen communities,” said Bertram L. Lawson II, President and CEO of YGBW. “In this expanded leadership role, she will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders to execute our strategic vision. Chester County is a diverse and growing region, and Terri’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that YGBW’s programs and services reflect our community’s evolving needs.”

YGBW, which serves over 87,000 residents through its nine branches and program centers across Chester County, has also announced several new leadership appointments to enhance its ability to meet community needs. The organization recently added two District Executive Directors of Operations, Nic Legere and Dave Mullin, to its team.

Additionally, YGBW welcomed Freddy Christmas as Executive Director of the Coatesville branch, Megan Florentin as Executive Director of the Lionville branch, Devin Manion as Executive Director of the Kennett branch, and Tim Grayson as Associate Executive Director of the Jennersville branch. The timing couldn’t be better, as their dedication and innovation will serve our communities well as our organization continues to evolve.”

Nic Legere echoed these sentiments about Devin Manion and Tim Grayson, stating, “It is such a pleasure to serve alongside Devin and Tim. They are very in tune with the needs of the communities in southern Chester County and are driven to make an impact. Their leadership and dedication make a difference in the lives of our members and guests each day.”

Advancing the YMCA’s Mission

Its efforts include operating food and resource pantries at three locations, as well as providing forever-well programming for seniors.

Under Edgar’s expanded leadership and with the newly appointed branch executives, YGBW is poised to continue evolving its programs to support the diverse and growing needs of its members. The organization’s impact, driven by a commitment to accessibility and community well-being, remains a cornerstone of its mission.

Looking ahead, YGBW aims to build on its legacy of service. By fostering innovation and collaboration across its branches, the YMCA is set to strengthen connections and empower residents of all ages to thrive in the years to come.
