WEST CHESTER, PA — Verrica Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: VRCA) has announced the appointment of Dr. Noah L. Rosenberg as Chief Medical Officer, a strategic move aimed at strengthening the company’s efforts in advancing its innovative dermatology treatments.
Dr. Rosenberg brings more than 30 years of clinical and therapeutic drug development experience, including leadership roles at biotechnology companies that culminated in successful global approvals across multiple therapeutic areas. Most recently, he served as Chief Medical Officer at Travere Therapeutics, where he oversaw the approval of Filspari, and has held senior positions at Medimetriks Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi, and Pfizer. Dr. Rosenberg also led the approval of Xepi, a topical antibiotic for impetigo, during his time at Medimetriks.
With his appointment, Dr. Rosenberg is expected to drive the development of Verrica’s flagship product, YCANTH®, recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of molluscum contagiosum. Additionally, he will oversee the clinical-stage programs targeting basal cell carcinoma and common warts, both of which aim to address significant unmet needs in dermatology.
Dr. Rosenberg, a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine, completed his residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University, reinforcing his deep expertise in both science and medicine.
Alongside his appointment, Verrica approved a 325,000-share stock option award as part of its 2024 Inducement Plan, offering incentives designed to attract high-level leadership. The grant vests over a four-year period, aligning with the company’s long-term strategic goals.
