MALVERN, PA — Meridian Bank has announced the recruitment of Christopher E. McDermott as its new Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending, marking a significant enhancement to its team dedicated to serving business clients in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
Starting his banking career immediately after high school, McDermott climbed the ranks from a clerk at Girard Bank to a leading figure in commercial lending. His academic endeavors at LaSalle College, coupled with his professional growth during a dynamic era of mergers and acquisitions in Philadelphia, have furnished him with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of commercial financing.
Chris Annas, the founder and CEO of Meridian Bank, noted that he first encountered McDermott a decade ago and has since been keen on bringing him aboard. Annas praised McDermott’s extensive experience in commercial and industrial lending, expressing confidence that his expertise will greatly benefit the bank’s ‘Continuum of Lending’ strategy, which is designed to support customer success through a partnership-oriented approach.
McDermott, who resides in Lansdale, will operate from Meridian’s office in Blue Bell, PA. His appointment underscores Meridian Bank’s commitment to strengthening its commercial lending services by tapping into seasoned industry professionals who share the institution’s values of partnership and customer loyalty. This strategic move is poised to not only enhance the bank’s operational capacity but also bolster its position as a key player in the regional banking sector.
