MALVERN, PA — Frontline Education, the Pennsylvania-based edtech firm, announced this week that Chris Tonas has joined its executive team as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With over three decades of experience in software engineering and development, Tonas brings a wealth of knowledge from his leadership roles at Pluralsight and Oracle.
In his new role as CTO, Tonas will spearhead Frontline’s technological aspects, including engineering and development, cloud infrastructure management, and security. His appointment is effective immediately, and he will operate out of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tonas’ career is distinguished by his involvement in significant technology advancements. During his tenure as CTO at Pluralsight, he was instrumental in driving standardization and modernization initiatives and leading the company’s global expansion of product and technology organizations. At Oracle, he developed the frameworks and platforms powering Oracle Cloud Applications, including Human Capital Management and Enterprise Resource Planning. He also led a global team of engineers across the U.S., India, Czech Republic, and Mexico.
