WEST CHESTER, PA — Dr. Karen Pinsky has been appointed chief executive officer of Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital (CCH), following her tenure as interim CEO since July 2024.
Dr. Pinsky, who has been with CCH for over 15 years, previously served as chief medical officer starting in 2019. She also held the roles of chief medical information officer in 2008 and chief quality and medical information officer in 2018. Her leadership experience includes directing newborn and pediatric services at the CHOP Care Network at CCH for 15 years.
“Dr. Pinsky brings an energetic and visionary leadership with a passion for driving safe, high-quality patient care and strong engagement among employees, physicians, and the surrounding community,” said University of Pennsylvania Health System CEO Kevin B. Mahoney. “Her strong belief in providing services for healthier communities and her demonstrated experience as a key leader in building integrated care across our health system make her well-prepared to sustain and enhance CCH’s exceptional care of patients throughout Chester County.”
Through her leadership, Dr. Pinsky spearheaded numerous initiatives to improve quality and safety programs, foster employee engagement, and expand system growth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a pivotal role, overseeing clinical operations and leading community vaccine distribution strategies.
Dr. Pinsky is board-certified in pediatrics and clinical informatics and holds a medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine, alongside advanced certifications in biomedical informatics. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, she also serves on the board of Community Volunteers in Medicine, a nonprofit providing comprehensive healthcare services to those in need.
Dr. Pinsky’s appointment reflects a continued emphasis on integrated care and community-driven healthcare initiatives at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital.
