AMETEK

BERWYN, PA — Industrial technology leader AMETEK, Inc. (NYSE: AME) has announced the impending retirement of its Chief Financial Officer, William J. Burke, set to take effect on April 2, 2024. After an impressive tenure of 36 years with the company, including nearly eight years as CFO, Burke is set to pass the financial leadership baton to Dalip M. Puri.

Puri currently serves as Senior Vice President, Operational Finance at AMETEK, and his promotion to Executive Vice President and CFO was confirmed by the company’s Board of Directors. To ensure a seamless transition, Burke will remain with AMETEK as a Senior Advisor through April 2025.

AMETEK Chairman and CEO, David A. Zapico, expressed his gratitude for Burke’s significant contributions during his time at the company. “Bill’s leadership, guidance and expertise have been instrumental in the growth and success of AMETEK and the development of our world-class finance organization,” said Zapico. “On behalf of all AMETEK colleagues, I congratulate Bill on his outstanding career, and wish him and his family all the best as they plan for his upcoming retirement.”

Burke joined AMETEK in 1987, serving in various financial, operational, and business unit management roles. He was named Vice President, Investor & Corporate Relations in 1999, followed by his election as Vice President, Investor Relations and Treasurer in 2007. In 2012, he took on the role of Senior Vice President, Comptroller & Treasurer before being elected as Executive Vice President and CFO in May 2016.

The transition of financial leadership at such a prominent technology firm is likely to be closely watched by industry insiders and investors. Puri’s appointment signals a commitment to internal growth and continuity at AMETEK, which can be encouraging for stakeholders hoping for stable financial leadership. His previous experience in operational finance within the company could also suggest a continued focus on strategic investment and operational efficiency.
