Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department Seeks Full-Time Officers

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department is currently accepting resumes for the position of full-time police officer. This accredited department serves approximately 30,000 residents in Westtown and East Goshen Townships, covering about 19 square miles just south of West Chester, PA.

The starting salary for this position is $71,800, with annual increases reaching $119,674 after six years under the current contract. The benefits package includes medical coverage, dental, vision, and prescription plans. Additionally, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance policies are offered.

The department also provides training opportunities, college incentives, and reimbursements. Officers receive paid leave, including vacation, personal, sick, and holiday pay. Uniforms and equipment are supplied, along with additional allowances for shoes and cleaning. A defined benefit pension plan and a .5% agency contribution to a 457K plan are also part of the benefits.

Applicants must be current police officers in Pennsylvania with at least one year of experience. They must be at least 21 years old, MPOETC Act 120 certified, and possess a high school diploma or GED. U.S. citizenship and a valid driver’s license are required. Candidates must also be medically and physically capable of performing essential duties.

The selection process involves a comprehensive resume submission, an assessment of written communication skills, a physical agility test, oral interviews, extensive background checks, a polygraph exam, medical and psychological evaluations, a drug screening, and a credit check.
