MALVERN, PA — Job hunting can often feel like navigating through a labyrinth, with countless applications, follow-ups, and recruiter communications to keep track of. Recognizing this challenge, Penn State Great Valley is hosting a free workshop titled “Tools for Staying Organized in Job Search” on Saturday, February 10th, 2024.

The session will be led by JB Brigati, currently the Vice President of Marketing Operations & Product Management at Philadelphia Police & Fire Federal Credit Union. Brigati is no stranger to the complexities of job hunting. During a four-month transition period, she managed to handle over 1,000 emails, nearly 90 online job applications, and numerous phone calls, all while maintaining her sanity.

Brigati will share practical strategies that she developed during her job search. Attendees will learn how to stay on top of all applications and follow-up activities, effectively track recruiter referrals and communications, and understand the importance of monitoring target companies and setting alerts. In addition, Brigati will also guide the attendees on using templates to craft tailored resumes and cover letters for each opportunity.

The workshop is part of a broader initiative called My Career Transitions, an organization committed to supporting professionals in the Greater Philadelphia area through their career transitions. For nearly two decades, My Career Transitions has assisted over 15,000 job seekers, offering resources, networking opportunities, and skills development sessions.

The event will kick off with networking opportunities, followed by Brigati’s presentation, and will conclude with another opportunity for attendees to connect. The atmosphere promises to be friendly and comfortable, fostering an environment of collective learning.
