WEST CHESTER, PA — In celebration of National Workforce Development Month, PA CareerLink Chester County, in collaboration with the Chester County Workforce Development Board, is organizing a series of CareerLink Awareness Day events. These initiatives aim to enhance job opportunities and provide essential resources for local job seekers.
On September 10, the Re-Entry Career & Resource Fair will kick off in Coatesville at The Arches, 600 East Chestnut St., from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This fair will feature 18 employers, including Chester County’s Departments of Human Services and Children, Youth & Families, as well as Senior Helpers and Aramark. Attendees will receive a $10 voucher for the Chester County Food Bank’s mobile markets, providing immediate tangible support to participants.
The following day, September 11, Kennett Square will host the Employer Panel & Career Fair at the Kennett Library, 320 East State St. The event begins with an Employer Panel discussion from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., focusing on effective job search strategies and employer expectations. Subsequently, the Career Fair will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., featuring 22 employers such as Krapf School Bus, Phillips Mushroom Farms, and LCH Health and Community Services.
Butch Urban, Site Administrator for PA CareerLink Chester County, emphasized the importance of these events: “September is Workforce Development Month, which highlights the importance of workforce development programs and events like the Re-Entry Career & Resource Fair and the Employer Panel and Career Fair. Both are ideal opportunities for anyone in the job market or looking to make a career change to learn about job openings and meet with employers – plus, have their resumes reviewed and their headshots taken.”
Beyond these fairs, PA CareerLink Chester County offers year-round resources including free classes and career coaching. These services are designed to equip job seekers with the necessary skills to navigate the job market effectively.
Open to all, these CareerLink Awareness Day events require no registration, making them easily accessible.
