WEST CHESTER, PA — Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, a full-service law firm with offices in West Chester, PA and Greater Wilmington, DE, welcomes Salvia Yi as an associate attorney practicing in civil litigation and criminal defense.

Yi’s practice focuses on commercial disputes, with experience in criminal defense. Currently, she handles arbitrations, appeals and hearings at both the District Court and Court of Common Pleas levels with recent cases centered on landlord-tenant disputes.
Yi began her courtroom career in law school at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she assisted in the prosecution of cases at the Philadelphia Municipal Court. Her cases included misdemeanor trials and preliminary hearings for felonies on major drug cases and thefts. Yi also helped defend the City of Philadelphia in personal injury lawsuits at the Philadelphia Legal Department Claims Unit and served as a court-trained mediator in landlord-tenant disputes at the Philadelphia Municipal Court. Previously, Yi clerked for the Honorable Jonathan Irvine in the First Judicial District.
A graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law, Yi served as co-chair of the Women’s Law Caucus, interned with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project and participated in Temple’s nationally recognized Trial Advocacy program.
Yi serves on the arbitration panel for Delaware County. She is a member of the Chester County Bar Association, as well as a member of the Delaware County Bar Association, Delaware County Young Lawyers’ Section, American Bar Association and Temple Law Alumni Association.
