COATESVILLE, PA – Long considered a food desert, the City of Coatesville will celebrate the grand opening of C-Town Supermarket, the City’s first full-service grocery store. The public is invited for the ribbon-cutting festivities on Friday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. at 245 East Lincoln Highway.
This marks the first C-Town Supermarket location in Chester County, according to Juan Almanzar and Miguel Marquez, who partnered to bring the project to fruition. The two have worked together since 2008, and Marquez has also established two successful C-Town Supermarkets in Lancaster and York, PA.
“The project, which has been under development since 2020, sustained setbacks due to the pandemic, and we are excited to finally open our doors,” says Almanzar. “C-Town empowers independent store owners with the freedom and flexibility to make each store a reflection of their neighborhood, and we look forward to serving and supporting the City. We appreciate the enthusiasm the community has shown and the support and guidance we’ve received from City Council and the City.”
C-Town will operate seven-days-a-week from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will stock name brand products, fresh meats, dairy, produce, frozen seafood, and baked goods including freshly baked bread. Customers can enjoy a deli to order sandwiches, wings, burgers and fries to go. The 14,700 square-foot space will feature 8 aisles.
“C-Town’s presence is another step that reflects Coatesville’s collaborative effort to provide healthy and wholesome food choices for our growing community,” says James Logan, Coatesville City Manager. “Coatesville residents have been waiting for the return of a neighborhood supermarket, and we are pleased to partner with C-Town’s management to give Coatesville residents what they have been wanting and waiting for.”
C-Town employs local staff and will continue to interview to fill two to three-dozen positions. Interested job seekers may pick up an application at the store or contact CTownCoatesvillepa@gmail.com.
