EXTON, PA — In a display of its ongoing commitment to robust governance, business agility, and community-centric service, Citadel Credit Union today publicized the enlistment of two eminent professionals to both its Board of Directors (BOD) and Supervisory Committee. Unlike other institutions where directors are paid, at Citadel, they serve voluntarily; their allegiance lies not with stockholders but with member-owners.

Joining Citadel’s BOD are Jessica Schuler and Madhav Gopal, while Crystal Nguyen and Jennifer Frost have taken on the responsibility of steering the Supervisory Committee.

Bill Brown, Citadel Credit Union’s CEO, expressed his delight, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome our new BOD and Supervisory Committee members. Their varied expertise and steadfast leadership are crucial as we persist in our innovation and service to our members with integrity.”

Sharing more light on the new inductees’ background, Jessica Schuler, earlier the Chair of the Supervisory Committee, now boards the BOD, offering her extensive expertise in the insurance and financial services sector. The seasoned professional, currently Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Marsh McLennan, has held significant positions at Sallie Mae and Independence Blue Cross. These experiences have primed her to significantly boost Citadel’s communication and member engagement strategies. Holding both a B.S. and an M.S. in Communications from Drexel University, Schuler is well-equipped for this role.

Gopal, on the other hand, elevates from his eight-year term on the Supervisory Committee to the BOD. Displaying leadership through participation in the Board’s Enterprise Risk Management and Nominating & Succession Committees, Gopal, the present Chief Information Security Officer at JKBX, offers a wealth of global security and operations know-how. With an Electrical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) to boot, his credentials speak for themselves.

Citadel’s Supervisory Committee also witnesses new additions. Crystal Nguyen, an experienced Program Manager at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, offers over six years of leadership and cutting-edge program management skills—proven by her role in establishing the Salon Services Team and the Telehealth Navigator Program. An MBA graduate specializing in Leadership and Change Management from Drexel University, Nguyen is a strategic addition to the team.

April 2024 marked Jennifer Frost’s joining of the Supervisory Committee. The founder and CEO of Frost Consult LLC, a consultation firm specialized in operational efficiency in financial services, Frost boasts over two decades of experience in banking. Her previous roles as Director of Operations and Technology at Republic First Bank and CITO at QNB Bank demonstrate her operational prowess. Frost’s commitment to community service is evident in her participation in the Bucks County Community College Foundation Board and the Society for Information Management (SIM).

CEO Bill Brown reiterated his confidence in the new additions, stating, “I am confident that their contributions will continue to propel Citadel towards even greater achievements in our mission to provide secure, valuable, and community-focused financial services.”

In a world that demands constant evolution and adaptation, Citadel Credit Union’s new members promise to deliver significant contributions to the institution’s mission. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will undoubtedly take the credit union further in its quest to provide quality, secure, and community-focused financial services. This development is a testament to Citadel’s ongoing commitment to implementing strong governance and ensuring business agility.
