CHESTERBROOK, PA — Boomi™ has been awarded two new patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This brings the company’s total patent count to 36, highlighting its dedication to innovation and the pursuit of advanced AI capabilities.
One of the newly granted patents, U.S. Patent No. 11,886,965, is for “Artificial-Intelligence-Assisted Construction of Integration Processes.” This patent covers the technology behind features that enable Boomi’s customers to construct integrations based on the platform’s suggestions. Tools like Shape Suggest, Quick Start, and the more recent Boomi AI all fall under this patent’s umbrella.
This innovation aims to ease the learning curve associated with building integration processes on such platforms. It utilizes machine learning models – based on a Markov chain or graph neural networks – to provide predictive guidance to users, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of constructing integration processes.
Ed Macosky, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Boomi, expressed his pride in the team’s work: “This patent showcases our commitment to challenging existing paradigms in the domain of integration platform as a service (iPaaS). Prior to this, building integration processes relied heavily on user expertise and manual inputs, which could be prone to errors. Our AI-driven approach has transitioned this task into an intelligent, predictive, and guided process.”
The second patent, U.S. Patent No. 11,847,167, is titled “System and Method for Generation of Chat Bot System with Integration Elements Augmenting Natural Language Processing and Native Business Rules.” The patented technology enables Boomi customers to build hybrid chatbots that combine rules-based connectivity, natural language processing, Boomi logic, and AI technologies. This technology has set the groundwork for Retrieval Augmented Generation and exhibits Boomi’s early innovations in applying AI to integration.
Reflecting on this achievement, Macosky added, “Securing these patents reaffirms our commitment to continuous innovation and cements our position as a leader in the industry. We are excited about the potential impact our AI patents will have for our customers and partners, and we look forward to continuing our mission of driving transformation through intelligent integration and automation.”
Boomi’s recent patents highlight its ongoing commitment to AI and machine learning, marking a significant milestone not only for the company but also for the wider technology industry. As AI continues to revolutionize various sectors, Boomi’s contributions are poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of tech innovation.
