WEST CHESTER, PA — AccessLex Institute® has unveiled the Admission Innovation Project, a pioneering initiative aimed at helping law schools explore and implement fresh approaches to student admissions. This program encourages law schools to rethink the traditional reliance on standardized tests by collaborating with AccessLex researchers to assess alternative admission frameworks.
Aaron N. Taylor, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the AccessLex Center for Legal Education Excellence®, highlighted the project’s significance: “The Admission Innovation Project is an unprecedented opportunity for law schools to engage in rigorous exploration of the determinants of law school success.” This initiative is particularly timely, as it seeks to uncover factors that better predict student success, aligning with broader discussions about equity in education.
The project will accept proposals on an ongoing basis. Interested law schools are invited to submit a letter of inquiry, with AccessLex potentially partnering with up to three schools to fully develop their proposals. The collaboration will span up to 24 months, supported comprehensively by AccessLex.
Since 2014, AccessLex Institute has committed over $24.5 million to various grants, showcasing a strong commitment to improving access, affordability, and the overall value of legal education. The Admission Innovation Project stands as a testament to AccessLex’s dedication to driving meaningful change in legal education.
