2025 Rx Summit to Address Opioid Crisis with Key Stakeholders

HMP Global

MALVERN, PA — The 2025 Rx and Illicit Drug Summit, the nation’s premier event focused on combating the opioid crisis, will convene April 21-24 in Nashville, Tennessee. Organized by HMP Global in partnership with Operation UNITE, the summit will bring together thousands of professionals from local, state, and federal levels to advance solutions for addiction treatment and recovery.

The event follows the recent renewal of the national Opioid Public Health Emergency Declaration by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., underscoring the urgency of addressing opioid misuse and overdose deaths.

“Creating change and shaping futures in addiction recovery starts here,” said Doug Edwards, Senior Vice President, Behavioral Health, HMP Education. “With more than a million lives lost to the opioid crisis, Rx Summit is crucial in bringing together the decision-makers and allied professionals who are ready to make an impact. It’s where ideas become action.”

Now in its 14th year, the summit will feature an extensive educational program with 65 sessions, led by over 100 experts. The sessions are structured into seven specialized tracks focusing on clinical approaches, public safety, prevention, advocacy, illicit drugs, recovery supports, and trending topics.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in Shine for Recovery Day on April 22 by wearing sparkly attire in support of recovery efforts.

Educational and Collaborative Opportunities

Rx Summit’s programming will include discussions on emerging drug trends, harm reduction strategies, and comprehensive recovery supports. It also offers continuing medical education (CME) credits to meet the requirements of the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act.

The event will serve as a platform for policymakers, clinical professionals, advocates, and community leaders to collaborate on actionable strategies to address the opioid epidemic’s devastating toll.

“Together, we can turn the tide and ensure no more lives are lost to this epidemic,” added Edwards.
