BRYN MAWR, PA — In a significant infrastructure upgrade, Aqua Pennsylvania is installing approximately 17,000 feet of water mains across West Brandywine and Caln townships and Downingtown Borough. The move is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to replace aging water and wastewater infrastructure nationwide.
The new lines, made from ductile iron—a durable material composed of nearly 90% recycled materials—will be tied into the existing water main system. This upgrade will enhance water flow and service reliability for customers throughout Chester County.
In West Brandywine Township, the company’s crews are installing almost 8,600 feet of 12-inch ductile iron mains along Manor Road between Beaver Creek and Hibernia roads, and Hibernia Road between Manor Road and Horseshoe Pike (322).
The upgrade also includes a two-phased project in Downingtown Borough and Caln Township, where nearly 8,500 feet of 16-inch ductile iron mains are being installed. The work is being carried out on Rock Raymond Road between Autumn Cherry Boulevard and Manor Avenue (322), Manor Ave (322) between Rock Raymond Road and Lloyd Avenue, and Lloyd Avenue between Manor Avenue (322) and points west of Stonebridge Lane and Deer Drive.
This major installation project is part of Aqua’s stated dedication to ensuring reliable drinking water and safe wastewater solutions for its customers. As the country grapples with aging infrastructure, these investments by Aqua Pennsylvania play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality and reliability of essential water services in communities like Chester County.
