Are you looking for the best cookbook for weight loss? If you are among the almost 2 in 3 adults who are considered to be overweight or to have obesity, then one of the most powerful choices you can make for your health is choosing the right diet plan.

There is plenty of research showing home cooking helps promote weight loss for a number of reasons:

  1. You know exactly what you are eating;
  2. Homemade meals help you control calories;
  3. You are more likely to eat healthier foods; and
  4. You are less likely to be tempted by fast food.

The problem is that with many weight loss plans, people feel very restricted. Many diets are often a temporary, highly restrictive program of eating to lose weight that will only have the pounds rushing back once it ends. Is this something you experienced?

In this article, I am reviewing one of the best cookbooks for weight loss: The Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook 2.0 by Greg Doucette.

Do Diets Actually Work?

Most diets can help you lose weight if you can stick with it. It doesn’t matter if it is the Keto, Paleo, Carnivore, Intermittent Fasting, or even the Cabbage Soup Diet. The issue is that these diets really only work for about 5 percent of people. For everyone else, they can expect the regain all the weight lost, and often more.

In addition, these diets and weight loss plans very often lack essential nutrients or restrict the consumption of certain food groups. Worse yet, they almost never teach you anything about how to eat after the program is over.

So, once you “completed” your diet or weight loss program, you will more than likely boomerang back to unhealthy eating patterns. This then begins a pattern of “yo-yo dieting” and the associated health problems.

The fact is that very restrictive diets and weight loss plans do little more than take all the pleasure out of eating. There is no reason you should have to suffer just to lose weight. Don’t you agree?

Yet, the problems with diets and weight loss plans do not stop there. Dieting is frequently accompanied by compulsive and repeated weighing, which can potentially lead to eating disorders. According to Psychology Today, people who diet are 8 times as likely to develop an eating disorder.

It is time to end the fad diets and skip the magic elixirs. Eating healthy and routine exercise are the only effective ingredients for losing weight and keeping it off. It is just that simple.

That said, what if I told you you could eat large, filling and even yummy meals, while losing weight in a way that does not rely on gimmicks? Is that something you are interested in?

Dieting Better Than Last Time

French toast, pizza and ice cream are just some of the many recipes you will discover in The Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook 2.0 by Greg Doucette (aka Coach Greg). The reason I am recommending this cookbook is because it meets the weight loss needs of most, everyday people. The recipes are designed to be easy to make, delicious, filling, and low-calorie versions of many foods you love.

Moreover, Coach Greg does not tell you that “you are doing it wrong” just because you are not buying organic, grass feed, or non-GMO products. He embraces artificial sweeteners with the slogan “no calories, no problem.” The diet plan is specifically designed to be one that keeps you feeling full and satisfied, without a whole lot of stress, and which is easily customizable and sustainable for life.

The Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook 2.0 by Greg Doucette includes detailed recipes that cover breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, dinners, snacks and desserts. The step-by-step recipe details are written for non-chefs with ingredients, precise measurements, serving sizes, and the calorie and macronutrient breakdowns. Additionally, there is something for everyone, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

The key benefits of The Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook 2.0 by Greg Doucette are:

  1. There are plenty of recipes;
  2. The ingredients are healthier;
  3. Preparation is generally hassle-free;
  4. Customizable for vegan and others;
  5. The recipes are yummy!

You may be asking, “Can this diet plan be that good or will I just be eating cardboard?” Coach Greg guarantees that his version of your favorite foods will taste “80 percent as good” as the original and, having tried many, I have to agree. Of course, the coach’s version of lasagna is not going to be quite as good as your favorite, but it is delicious and you will get to eat a whole lot more of it. You may even find that some recipes, like the french toast, are tastier than the original.

Who Is Greg Doucette?

Greg Doucette is a bodybuilder, powerlifter, educator, coach and fitness Youtuber. Coach Greg holds a Masters of Science in Kinesiology (the mechanics of body movements) from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, where he graduated with a 3.93 GPA. He became an IFBB Pro Bodybuilder cardholder in 2012, and has held or currently holds several world records in powerlifting.

As a Youtuber, Coach Greg has a straightforward, passionate, no-holds-barred approach to fitness that some may find (at least initially) to be abrasive. With a voice that will remind you of Iago from Aladdin (1992), many of Greg Doucette’s videos are of him yelling into the camera about one thing or another. He has absolutely no problem going negative, and telling it like it is, especially when he comes across a “fitness influencer” he believes is promoting false or misleading information.

Yet, as you watch more, you will discover that Coach Greg provides viewers with very positive messages, both on fitness and life. His mantra is simple: “Work harder than last time.” He doesn’t want you to feel bad about being overweight or not looking like a bodybuilder or fitness model. His advice is to make small, incremental changes so that your health improves over time and so that those changes stick.

Coach Greg regularly instructs his followers to love and accept themselves for who they are, and warns them of becoming obsessed with getting the “perfect body.” He helps his followers understand there are no quick fixes, no magic bullet to weight loss, and the need for reasonable expectations. Essentially, he tells people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.

5 Stars Out of 5

In this review, I am giving The Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook 2.0 by Greg Doucette 5 stars out of 5. If you are tired of being overweight, of being hungry, and of yo-yo dieting then Coach Greg’s diet plan is likely ideally suited for you.
