Summer is officially over, but the change in season does not slow down Philly golfers. It just means it’s time to break out the fall golf apparel. For some golfers, fall apparel is challenging. It’s a bit too warm to break out the winter gear, but especially in the morning and evening, sporting just a polo might be risky. To help start the fall golf season off strong, here are a few seasonal essentials every golfer should have in their wardrobe.

Go-To Base Layer

Base layers are key for ever-changing fall golf temperatures as they provide an extra layer of insulation while also keeping sweat at bay. They are both lightweight and breathable and are designed to keep golfers comfortable in almost any weather condition or active pursuit.

Vests

The fall temperature has been a bit more moderate in the Philadelphia area the past few years. It may be a bit too cool to go out in just a polo, but a jacket could leave one feeling overheated. This is why a vest is a cool-weather staple. The right golf vest adds a comfortable, protective layer without the bulkiness of a jacket. A vest made with the golfer in mind will include pockets to hold all the essentials, like extra golf balls for when you lose yours in the piles of leaves on the course.

Sweaters, Pullovers and Cardigans

Fall is a transition season that calls for layering pieces. Sweaters, pullovers, and cardigans can provide golfers with the light, warm layer needed on the course. When designed specifically for golfers, added stretchability and comfort make it easy to either wear for a full round, or stow away until it’s time to hit the clubhouse afterward. These golf staples are the perfect way to give any outfit a classic look, making it the perfect item to wear fashionably on and off the course.

Socks

Sore or wet feet are the last thing anyone needs on the golf course. As the weather cools, it’s even more important to protect your feet and keep them dry, especially during dewy mornings. Whether you’re walking or riding in the cart, uncomfortable feet can end anyone’s day early. Golfers should look for socks that offer extra cushioning, moisture-wicking materials, and a design that helps them to stay in place and not shift during play. Rather than layering socks, golfers should look for the pair that can get them through a full fall round.

Cooler weather shouldn’t deter anyone from hitting the course this fall. With the right apparel, any golfer can feel comfortable hitting the course year-round.
