Traveling the Big Blue World, Finding Nemo Jr. comes to SALT Performing Arts February 9 – March 3, 2024

Finding Nemo Jr

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Join us for Disney’s Finding Nemo JR., a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by Frozen’s award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

Finding Nemo is about an anxious and over-protective clownfish, named Marlin that lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

For the sixth year, SALT is partnering with Acting Antics to produce two productions of Finding Nemo. The first three weekends, February 9 – 25, will feature SALT teens, and the final weekend, March 1 – 3, will be performed by the Acting Antics all-abilities cast and friends.

“With themes about friendship, trust, family, fear, and perseverance, Finding Nemo is relatable to us all,” comments Lauren McComas, President and Artistic Director of SALT Performing Arts. “We admire how the characters just keep swimming and persevere despite all the setbacks that get in their way. And we are so excited to show our imaginative outside-of-the-box, or shall we say outside-of-the-tank, version of this show.”

Melissa Ferkler, Director of Acting Antics, agrees, “Finding Nemo is the perfect show for all ages! The message, the characters, and the songs are so much fun. This partnership with SALT Performing Arts has been the heartbeat of our mission for the last few years. The buddy program with the teen cast is a magical friendship, and this experience means the world to us.”
