PHILADELPHIA, PA – Get ready for the wildest beer event of the season! The Philadelphia Zoo is hosting its Summer Ale Festival on Saturday, July 20, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This unique event features over 100 craft beers, ciders, hard iced teas, and hard seltzers, along with local food trucks and live music.
Guests can enjoy their drinks while exploring the zoo and seeing animals like big cats and great apes. The festival includes musical performances by Moon Poodle, Marielle Kraft, and Nik Greely & the Operators.
The brewery lineup features local favorites like Tired Hands Brewing Company and Dock Street Brewing, as well as out-of-towners like Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company and New Trail Brewing Company. Non-beer options include Stateside Seltzer and Sea Isle Ice Tea. Food trucks like Bacon on a Stick and Bonjour Creperie will be on site to satisfy any appetite.
Cara Treadway, Vice President of Guest Experience, said, “We hear year after year from our guests that this festival offers a great variety of beverages and gives them the chance to see our animals up close with fewer crowds.”
Tickets include zoo admission and are available in various options:
- Early Admission (6-10 pm): $75-$90
- General Admission (7-10 pm): $65-$75
- Non-drinker: $35
Zoo members get a $10 discount on all tickets. This 21+ event includes free parking, a shuttle from 30th Street Station, and a souvenir tasting cup. The event will go on rain or shine. Tickets can only be purchased through the Zoo’s website and won’t be sold at the door.
