WEST CHESTER, PA — Film enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The West Chester International Short Film Festival is gearing up to celebrate its 18th year from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28, 2024. This three-day event promises a fantastic lineup of film blocks, parties, workshops, Pop-up Blocks, and more, all set in the heart of Downtown West Chester, Pennsylvania.

This year’s festival marks an exciting new chapter as Sarah Beck takes on the role of President, bringing with her a wealth of experience and deep ties to both the festival and the West Chester community. The festival also welcomes five new board members, injecting fresh energy and creative ideas into the much-anticipated event.

Beck, who has been part of the WCFF since its inception, is also the Operations Manager of the Brandywine Ballet and an Adjunct Professor at Cheyney University among other roles. She steps into the shoes of Carol Quigley, who Beck says she looks forward to seeing “actually relaxing and watching films at the Festival this year!”

The festival weekend will showcase dozens of short films from filmmakers around the globe, spanning every genre imaginable. In just one two-hour block, audiences can expect to be taken on a rollercoaster of emotions – from the suspense of drama, to the intrigue of documentaries, the creativity of art pieces, the charm of animation, and the laughter of comedy.

In addition to the films, attendees won’t want to miss the Opening Night Party, the Filmmakers Meet & Greet, or the Closing Night Chester Awards Party. With something for everyone, it truly is a weekend-long celebration of independent filmmaking.
