PHILADELPHIA, PA — Get ready for a nostalgic evening under the stars! The East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District will host a special summer screening of the 80s classic “Mannequin” on Friday, July 19th. The event will take place from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Mifflin Triangle, located at 1845 East Passyunk.
“Mannequin,” filmed in Center City’s Wanamaker Building, stars Kim Cattrall and Andrew McCarthy. The story revolves around a department store mannequin that comes to life, leading to a series of fun and heartwarming events.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet Emmy, the actual mannequin from the movie. On loan from South Fellini, Emmy will be available for selfies. South Fellini Co-Owner Tony Trov will introduce the movie and provide some background stories. After the film, stick around for an 80s dance party featuring tunes from Trov’s specially curated playlist.
Refreshments will be available for purchase from Pistolas del Sur, including margaritas, craft beer, water, and soda. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and pick up dinner or dessert from nearby restaurants.
The event is free and open to the public. Special thanks to sponsors Samuels Seafood Company, Jeff Gottesman’s State Farm, and South Fellini. For those looking to get into the spirit, South Fellini offers “Mannequin” themed stickers, pins, and shirts.
East Passyunk Movie Night with “Mannequin” is one of many summer events on the famous Avenue. Be sure to visit on Thursday nights for Passyunk Passeggiata, a lively street festival from 5-7 pm.
Don’t miss this chance to enjoy a classic film and fun night out with the community.
