KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Spring is in full bloom at Longwood Gardens, as vibrant tulip displays and a spectrum of seasonal colors grace its landscapes. The Flower Garden Walk, Longwood’s renowned 600-foot-long centerpiece, dazzles visitors with tens of thousands of tulips transitioning from cool purples and pinks to fiery reds and yellows, culminating in crisp whites. This breathtaking display is expected to be at its peak for the next two weeks, weather permitting.

The gardens’ spring offerings extend beyond tulips. The recently refurbished Idea Garden showcases an array of blooming bulbs and striking container arrangements. Meanwhile, the new Bonsai Courtyard presents a unique collection of Kurume azalea bonsai in brilliant bloom until the end of April. Elsewhere, flowering trees like redbuds and dogwoods, along with native wildflowers such as Virginia bluebells, fill the grounds with delicate pastels.

To accommodate the season, Longwood Gardens has adjusted its hours. Special openings on Tuesdays, April 15 and 22, provide guests with additional access. Standard operating hours run Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 17. From April 18 to May 8, hours extend on weekends, with Friday through Sunday welcoming visitors until 9 p.m. Timed tickets are required for all guests, including members.

This fleeting spring spectacle offers an enchanting experience and celebrates the season’s beauty across Longwood Gardens’ iconic landscapes. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of these rare seasonal blooms, which promise a vibrant and unforgettable sight.
