Wine & Jazz Festival to Enchant Longwood Gardens

KENNETT SQUARE, PALongwood Gardens is set to host a spectacular Wine & Jazz Festival on Saturday, September 14, 2024. This highly anticipated event promises a day filled with world-class jazz performances and exquisite wine tastings, running from 2 to 9 PM and culminating in a jazz-inspired Illuminated Fountain Performance in the Main Fountain Garden.

The festival lineup includes an impressive array of distinguished jazz artists. Headlining the event is five-time Grammy Award-winning vocalist Dianne Reeves, known for her breathtaking virtuosity and unique jazz and R&B stylings. Joining her is the dynamic alto saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, celebrated for her electrifying presence and fusion of jazz, hip hop, and soul. Also performing are pianist Harold López-Nussa, bassist Endea Owens & The Cookout, The Dale Melton Trio, and High and Mighty Brass Band.

For those eager to start the festivities early, the Wine & Jazz All Stars performance will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, in Longwood’s Open Air Theatre. This special nighttime event features bandleaders from past and present festivals, including trumpeter Etienne Charles, drummer Justin Faulkner, Benjamin, and López-Nussa. Tickets for this exclusive performance are available for $49 for attendees aged 21 and over.

Festival-goers can purchase a bundle ticket for both events at a reduced rate of $97. Single-day tickets for the main event on September 14 are priced at $65 for those 21 and over, with designated driver and youth tickets (ages 5-20) available for $43.

In addition to the stellar music lineup, guests will have the opportunity to sample wines from an array of renowned vineyards. Offerings include selections from the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and New Zealand, as well as numerous Pennsylvania wineries such as 1723 Vineyards, Folino Estate Winery, and Penns Woods Winery.

Dining options will be plentiful, with the Café and Beer Garden open from 1 to 8 PM. A prix fixe Wine & Jazz dinner at 1906, featuring seatings between 2 and 6 PM, will be available for $105 with wine pairings or $85 without. Advance reservations are recommended. Additionally, a gourmet snack tote for two can be added to ticket purchases for $75, providing a savory sampling of cheeses, crackers, hummus, and fruit. Concessions will be available throughout the Gardens.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs to enjoy the day comfortably. The event will proceed rain or shine, and outside food is prohibited within the Gardens.
