PHILADELPHIA, PA — Get ready for a spectacular display of pride and unity as Philly Pride 365, a program of Galaei, has announced the return of one of the nation’s grandest Pride celebrations on Sunday, June 2, 2024. The city is set to dazzle with the debut of America’s largest rainbow pride flag, stretching an impressive 400 feet, during the Philadelphia Pride March and Festival.
This vibrant celebration, themed “BE YOU,” invites the entire LGBTQ+ community and allies to gather at 6th and Walnut at 10:30 am for the march, which will culminate in the heart of the Philadelphia Gayborhood. In a powerful display of inclusivity and solidarity, no registration is required to join the march, ensuring that everyone can participate freely.
Following the march, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, attendees are invited to immerse themselves in the festival’s expanded footprint, spanning Walnut to Pine streets and Quince to Juniper streets. This year’s festival promises to be one of the largest ever, featuring over 200 small businesses and organizations. From local bars and food trucks to performers, artists, and community groups, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. True to the spirit of Pride, all are welcome to attend free of charge, with food and drink available on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Last year’s event was lauded by the CDC for its innovative approach to community engagement and service delivery, coupled with the electrifying atmosphere that has become synonymous with Pride celebrations. This year, Galaei continues its tradition of excellence, highlighting the theme “BE YOU,” a testament to the power of authenticity and self-expression.
In addition to the march and festival, the Annual Philadelphia Gay News Pride Brunch and Stonewall Awards Ceremony will take place at 11:00 am at the Arts Ballroom, further enriching the day’s festivities.
Philly Pride 365 brings together the city’s top LGBTQ+ organizers to create an unforgettable experience, marking one of Philadelphia’s largest outdoor festivals of the year. With an even larger festival footprint, beloved Gayborhood businesses such as Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni’s Room and Mixto will now officially participate, bringing the community closer together.
Stay tuned for a full list of vendors, entertainment schedules, stage line-ups, and more, set to be released the week of the event. For those interested in volunteering, participating, or sponsoring, visit www.phillypride365.org for more information.
