READING, PA — The eagerly anticipated 5th edition of the Haydenfilms Online Film Festival is set to captivate film enthusiasts from October 25 to 27 in Reading, Pennsylvania. This prestigious event will showcase a diverse array of films from six continents, highlighting the global appeal and artistic range of the submissions. Among the top 50 films is a local gem from the Lehigh Valley, “The Retailer,” directed by Jared Haas.

Hayden Craddolph, founder of Haydenfilms, expressed excitement about local contributions, stating, “We’re always excited when we get a submission from a local filmmaker and even more so when it’s filmed in our backyard.” Notably, the festival includes films starring renowned actresses such as Minnie Driver and Marisa Tomei, adding an extra layer of allure to the screenings.

The festival will unfold across various venues, including Alvernia University’s new RC Theater and the Miller Center for the Arts at Reading Area Community College. The weekend promises a rich program of panel discussions, workshops, networking opportunities, and live film screenings. A highlight will be the announcement of the $25,000 short film and $10,000 feature film winners on October 27.

Craddolph emphasized the importance of hosting the festival locally, saying, “We’re happy to do all of this on our home turf.” The event will also honor past winners and feature sponsorship from esteemed local entities such as Alvernia University and Sly Fox Brewing Company.
