PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Horror fans, film enthusiasts, and nostalgia lovers are gearing up for the 26th Annual Blobfest at the historic Colonial Theatre, located at 227 Bridge Street in Phoenixville. Taking place from July 11 to July 13, the three-day festival celebrates the theatre’s starring role in the 1958 sci-fi classic The Blob.
Tickets, starting at $40, go on sale to the general public on April 4 at noon and are expected to sell out quickly. This year’s theme, “Camp Blobfest,” promises an over-the-top celebration of sci-fi horror and community spirit, filled with throwbacks, thrills, and interactive experiences.
Fan-favorite events include an electrifying stage show, the iconic Run-Out scene reenactment (with an added session due to high demand), the 1950s rock ‘n’ roll Blob Ball, and the lively Saturday Street Fair. Additional highlights include Shorty’s Short Film Contest, Blob-inspired costume and facade decorating contests, and the Blobfest 5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon races, with tickets starting at $35.
Horror movie buffs can enjoy screenings of The Blob alongside other films like Evil Dead 2, Gremlins 2, and the Spanish-language La Masa Devoradora.
“Blobfest is more than just a festival—it’s a one-of-a-kind celebration of classic sci-fi, community spirit, and pure nostalgia,” said Colonial Theatre Executive Director Jennifer Carlson. “Every year, we’re thrilled to see fans old and new come together to embrace the fun.”
Visitors are encouraged to grab their tickets early to secure their chance to experience this unforgettable weekend. Tickets are available online or at the Colonial Theatre box office.
