Scheduled for October 26th, 2024, this family-friendly event promises a festive day filled with fun and fitness against the backdrop of the iconic haunted attraction.
The Monster Dash 5K provides an exciting multi-surface cross-country course that winds through the scenic Arasapha Farms and the Bates Motel Hayride. This year, new race offerings include a 1 Mile and Lil’ Monster Dashes for the youngest participants, ages 2-5. Registration opens at 7:30 AM, with the dashes commencing at 8:30 AM, followed by the 5K at 9:00 AM, and the 1 Mile at 9:10 AM.
Participants are encouraged to don their best Halloween costumes, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. However, safety remains a priority, with guidelines in place such as no masks or swords, and a requirement for closed-toe shoes. The costume contests will award the best-dressed participants in both individual and group categories.
All race participants will receive a commemorative Monster Dash 5K shirt and a chipped race bib, with medals awarded to the top finishers in each age group. Overall winners in the 5K will receive gift cards to the Bryn Mawr Running Store, recognizing their achievement with prizes of $100, $50, and $25 for first, second, and third places, respectively.
Significantly, the proceeds from this event will benefit the Edgmont Township Fire Company No.1, ensuring that the community spirit is front and center in this Halloween celebration.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for October 24th at the Edgmont Fire Company from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with race-day pick-up available starting at 7:30 AM.
