CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — History enthusiasts and families alike are invited to delve into the rich past of cider making at the Mill at Anselma‘s second annual Cider Fest on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this event promises a day of educational and entertaining activities, celebrating the heritage of the Pickering Valley.
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to witness colonial baking techniques firsthand through a demonstration led by expert Becky Manley. The event will also feature guided tours of the historic 1747 operating Mill, offering an immersive glimpse into centuries-old industrial processes and the building’s storied past.
The festival caters to younger attendees with a variety of children’s games, face painting, and crafts, all organized by local high school volunteers. Adding to the excitement, the Lionville Fire Company will be present with their firetruck, providing insights into their vital community service.
A diverse array of local vendors will ensure a delightful culinary experience. The Hedgehog Grill food truck will satisfy appetites, while Mariner Farms will offer sweet cider and apples available for purchase at the gift shop. Dressler Estate will showcase its celebrated ciders and wines, and visitors can purchase local honey from Extract & Box.
Admission to the event is complimentary for Mill members. For non-members, the cost is set at $10 for adults, $5 for seniors over 62, and $5 for children aged 4 to 14, with each ticket including a complimentary cup of cider or an apple.
