Set against the picturesque backdrop of Glenmoore, PA, this family-friendly event promises an engaging day filled with traditional farm activities, educational programs, and fun for all ages. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and join the celebration of spring and sustainable farming practices.
The day’s centerpiece, the shearing of the farm’s woolly inhabitants, offers a rare glimpse into the timeless craft of wool production. But the excitement doesn’t stop there; attendees will be treated to live blacksmith demonstrations, showcasing the art of metalworking, along with fleece spinning and weaving demonstrations that weave together tradition and skill right before your eyes.
For younger guests, the day is packed with entertainment including kids’ inflatables, face painting, and wagon rides that promise endless smiles and laughter. Savor delicious bites from food trucks while exploring the farm’s Great Barn, where agriculture’s past and present meet.
Animal lovers and aspiring farmers will delight in Penn State Extension and 4-H Clubs’ animal showcases, featuring milking goats, cows, and swine. Furthermore, the Chester County Animal Response Team (CART) will provide invaluable insights into emergency and disaster preparedness for animals.
