PHILADELPHIA, PA — ComedySportz, Philadelphia’s longest-running comedy show, is set to host an early New Year celebration this year with its special ‘New Year’s Improvin’ Eve’ event. The improv comedy show that doubles as a sporting match is offering a unique and hilarious way for families to ring in the New Year ahead of midnight.
Scheduled for 7 pm on New Year’s Eve, the event will culminate with a countdown synchronised with Brazil’s New Year celebrations at 9 pm. And the fun doesn’t stop offstage. Complimentary party favors, popcorn, pizza at halftime, soda, and water are included in the ticket price, along with wine and beer for guests aged 21 and older.
“Everything is unpredictable at ComedySportz New Year’s Improvin’ Eve,” said Don Montrey, Executive Director of ComedySportz Philadelphia. “The only thing we can predict is that you’ll have a great time. You get all the fun and excitement of a New Year’s Eve celebration and you’re home in time to ring in 2024 from your couch in your PJs.”
The evening will see two teams, The New Jersey Turnpikes and The Philadelphia Whiz Wits, pitted against each other in a series of improv games and scenes. The team that generates the most laughs from the audience will be crowned the winner. The special supersized show promises fan-favorite games, a few new ones, and plenty of audience interaction.
The 100-seat theater is ADA accessible and ensures an intimate comedy experience with excellent sight-lines and comfortable seating. Plus, with private bathrooms and complimentary refreshments, guests can enjoy a relaxed and entertaining evening.
Tickets are priced at $50 for adults, $45 for students, seniors, and military personnel with a valid ID, and $30 for children aged 12 and under. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the ComedySportz Philadelphia website.
Embrace the unpredictable this New Year’s Eve with ComedySportz and get ready to laugh your way into 2024!
