NEW HOPE, PA — Michael Cartellone, the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd, is showcasing his artistic talents at Arete Gallery. The exhibit, now open at 122 S Main St, features Cartellone’s paintings, which are available for both viewing and purchase.
“While you may have never seen Michael’s artwork, chances are you have heard the beats of his drum for iconic bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Damn Yankees,” said Kim I Plyler, Arete Gallery owner. “We are captivated by his artwork and we are thrilled to host him at our gallery.”
Cartellone, who has been balancing his dual passions for music and art since childhood, spends his time off tour painting. He began painting at age four and playing drums at age nine. His professional music career started early, at age 11, and led him to New York City at 22. There, he performed with musicians like Eddie Jobson and Tommy Shaw before joining Damn Yankees. He has since recorded and toured with legends such as John Fogerty, Peter Frampton, Freddie Mercury, and Cher.
In addition to the exhibit, Arete Gallery is hosting a meet and greet with Cartellone on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. This event offers fans a chance to meet the artist and view his work while Lynyrd Skynyrd performs at a nearby music festival in Bethlehem, PA. Registration for the meet and greet can be done by contacting info@aretegallery.com. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see the multifaceted talents of Michael Cartellone, whose creativity shines both on stage and in the art world.
