WEST CHESTER, PA — This fall, Keystone Volvo delivered 312 brand-new winter coats to the West Chester Area School District (WCASD) as part of the annual Driving Away the Cold campaign. The donation aims to provide warmth and comfort to students in need as the colder months arrive.
The coats were distributed by WCASD Home and School Visitors, who carefully matched sizes and colors to ensure they reached the economically disadvantaged students who need them most. According to district data, nearly 19 percent of WCASD’s 12,000 students face economic hardship, making support from community partners like Keystone Volvo vital.
Patricia Alston, WCASD Social Worker Coordinator, expressed gratitude for the dealership’s continued support. “We are incredibly grateful for Keystone Volvo’s unwavering generosity,” she said. “Having access to a new winter coat not only keeps our students warm but also helps them feel confident and ready to thrive in the classroom. This donation is a gift of both comfort and confidence.”
Driving Away the Cold is an initiative by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation that brings together over 180 auto dealerships in the Greater Philadelphia area, including Keystone Volvo. Since the program began in 2008, it has provided more than 575,000 winter coats to children in need.
