POTTSTOWN, PA — Ten Owen J. Roberts (OJR) High School seniors were named Commended Students in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
OJR’s ten Commended Students are:
- Hamsa Bandi – Hamsa plans on studying political science at a four-year university in the northeast after graduating from high school.

Aidan Bonner – Aidan hopes to attend one of Drexel University, Champlain College, Marist College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute or Rochester Institute of Technology while studying to become an independent video game designer.
- Grace Dales – Grace plans to study biomedical engineering after she graduates this upcoming summer. She’s interested in attending Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University or Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- Veer Kakari – A self-professed fan of the physics and genetics classes offered at OJR High School, Veer plans to continue his studies at a four-year university after graduation as he pursues a career in computer science.
- Vedika Nair – Applying her love for numbers and problem solving, Vedika plans on pursuing a career in math when she attends college in the fall.
- Aman Pothakamury – A member of the OJR High School Boys Swim Team, Aman is also a winner of the DECA State Career Development Conference (SCDC) Championship in Entrepreneurship. He plans to attend college/university in the fall while studying chemical engineering or computer science.
- Olivia Savochka – In addition to being captain of the Girls Varsity Golf team, Olivia is an honors student whose favorite area of study is science. After graduation, she plans to attend college on the east coast while studying biology, biochemistry or biomedical engineering, with the intention of continuing on to medical school.
- Brian Serfass – A proud member of the OJR High School DECA team that competed in Orlando, Florida, Brian hopes to attend college at either Duke University or University of Pennsylvania.
- Saikousil Tirumalasetty – While Saikousil has particularly enjoyed his time at OJR High School studying chemistry; his true passion is to study computer science at a four-year college or university next fall.
- Erik Zarkoski – A big fan of Dungeons and Dragons, in addition to ice cream, Erik hopes to attend Penn State University as he pursues a career as a videogame designer.

More than 1.3 million students in approximately 21,000 high schools entered the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. Although they will not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of all students who entered the 2024 Merit Program.
