CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Montgomery School in Chester Springs announced the groundbreaking of the expansive ground level of the W. Perry Gresh Academic Center. The Legacy & Growth project is the completion of full vision of the Gresh Academic Center that was built in 2007. The project is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2023. A number of leadership donors have stepped forward in support of this project including current Trustees, parents of Montgomery students, as well the late Mr. Gresh’s wife, Tucker, and his son, Perry.
The 3,500 sq. ft space will house a large performance and flex space, and an innovation suite with two classrooms – one focused on technology and one a maker space for students. It will be large enough to hold the entire student body and will be available to the community.
Montgomery School will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, November 3 at 9:30 am. The school, located at 1141 Kimberton Road in Chester Springs, is a K-8 independent, co-ed school on a 60-acre campus.
Perry Gresh had a more than twenty-year association with Montgomery School and was a significant driver of the school’s success. Perry’s relationship with Montgomery began in the 1980s as a parent. He quickly involved himself as a member of the Board of Trustees, chairing numerous committees, and serving two terms as Board Chair. At the time of his death, Perry was an active member of the Board of Trustees, in addition to being a devoted and involved grandfather to six granddaughters, three of whom as Montgomery School students.
