National Blue Ribbon School

EXTON, PA — In a remarkable display of academic excellence, the Saints Philip and James School in Exton has been named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School. This prestigious achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the school’s educators, students, and community to uphold the highest standards of education.

The U.S. Department of Education awards the National Blue Ribbon to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic performance or significant progress in closing the achievement gap among students. This year, out of the nation’s countless educational institutions, only 353 schools earned this distinguished title.

State Rep. Kristine Howard, D-Chester, expressed her immense pride in the school’s accomplishment. “The fact that a school in the 167th District was worthy of being called one of the best academic schools in the country fills me with pride,” she said. “I am especially proud that the Saints Philip and James School has received this recognition.”

The Saints Philip and James School is one of 13 schools in the commonwealth that received the award this year, further reinforcing Pennsylvania’s reputation for its commitment to educational excellence.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes institutions that create safe and welcoming environments where students can master challenging content. The program celebrates school officials’ efforts and innovations in teaching and learning, setting the standard for other schools throughout the nation.

The Saints Philip and James School, a beacon of academic success in Chester County, has consistently demonstrated its dedication to fostering an environment conducive to high-quality education. This is not the first time the school has received such an accolade; it was previously recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1989-1990.

As we celebrate this momentous achievement, let us also salute all the hardworking students, teachers, and staff at Saints Philip and James School. Their tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence are indeed worthy of national recognition.

In the words of Rep. Howard, “The hard-working students and teachers all deserve praise for this honor.” Indeed, they do. Congratulations to the Saints Philip and James School community on this well-deserved recognition!
