ALLENTOWN, PA — Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CIS of Eastern PA) has announced a significant expansion in its service network, adding six schools across Delaware and Chester counties. The organization will provide tailored, community-based support to students and their families in new areas, strengthening its mission to empower young learners.
CIS of Eastern PA will enhance its presence in the Southeast Delco School District by incorporating four elementary and middle schools into its network. Darby Township School, Delcroft School, Harris School, and Sharon Hill School will join the roster, which already includes Academy Park High School, added in September 2024. Each school will receive a dedicated site coordinator tasked with connecting students to essential resources for academic and personal success.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our services within the Southeast Delco School District and furthering our mission to empower students,” said Tim Mulligan, President & CEO of CIS of Eastern PA. “By adding these schools, we can offer even more students the support and resources they need to stay on track for graduation and achieve long-term success.”
The organization will also begin serving the Octorara Area School District in Chester County, with new placements at Octorara Junior Senior High School and Octorara Intermediate School. This extension underscores CIS’s holistic approach to addressing unique challenges faced by students through mentoring, academic support, mental health services, career exploration, and other essential programs.
With this expansion, funded through the Scaling For Success Fund of the CIS national office, CIS of Eastern PA aims to increase high school graduation rates and post-secondary success for at-risk students in the region. CIS of Eastern PA will continue to work closely with local schools, families, and community partners to provide individualized support to students facing academic, social, and emotional barriers.
