WEST CHESTER, PA — In a celebration of academic excellence, West Chester University (WCU) conferred the esteemed Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award to Simon Condliffe, a professor of economics and finance, during its winter commencement. This award is a testament to Condliffe’s outstanding dedication to teaching and his exceptional ability to inspire students.
Condliffe’s areas of teaching interest span across microeconomics, managerial economics for MBA students, business statistics, research methods, and the economics of health care. His innovative approach to these disciplines has previously earned him accolades at WCU for excellence in advising, and he has also been recognized by WCU’s Honors College as an outstanding faculty member.
Complementing his teaching prowess, Condliffe is a prolific researcher. His work delves into health care economics, microeconomics, regional economics, and the economics of gambling. His research findings have graced the pages of numerous prestigious publications including the American Economic Review, the Municipal Finance Journal, and the Journal of Regulatory Economics. He has also contributed to The Review of Regional Studies, Applied Economics Letters, and the UNLV Gaming Research and Review Journal.
Holding a doctoral degree and a master of science degree from the University of Delaware, along with an undergraduate degree from the University of Humberside, England, Condliffe brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into his classroom.
The Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award, supported by the Lindback Foundation since 1961, is bestowed upon educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching at colleges and universities primarily in the Greater Delaware Valley area. The recognition of Condliffe with this award underscores his significant contribution to the academic community at WCU.
