MECHANICSBURG, PA — LeadingAge PA has announced new partnerships with Elizabethtown College and Saint Joseph’s University to bolster career growth for caregivers in the aging services sector. These educational institutions will provide more accessible education opportunities and assist in professional development for staff at LeadingAge PA’s member communities.

Garry Pezzano, President and CEO of LeadingAge PA, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that the partnerships are designed to empower caregivers by creating pathways for career advancement. This initiative aims to address the ongoing workforce crisis in long-term care, ensuring that professionals are well-equipped to deliver exceptional care to older adults across Pennsylvania.

Elizabethtown College offers a 15% discount on tuition for LeadingAge PA member staff, their spouses, and dependents. This discount applies to a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as business, education, and healthcare. The programs are tailored for working adults, providing the flexibility needed to balance education with existing commitments.

Christopher D’Imperio, Director of Corporate Sponsorships at Elizabethtown College, expressed pride in the partnership. “We are committed to providing flexible educational opportunities that empower individuals to excel and make meaningful contributions to their communities,” he said.

Similarly, Saint Joseph’s University extends a 10% discount on tuition for a variety of programs, including health professions, business, education, arts, and nursing. This initiative supports the university’s mission to foster personal and professional growth among care professionals. Melissa Snyder, Dean of Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing and Allied Health, highlighted the program’s role in equipping professionals with the skills necessary to improve health outcomes for older adults.
