MEDIA, PA — Delaware County Community College is poised to host the anticipated 215|610 CONTEMPORARY Juried Exhibition, a platform that celebrates the dynamic work of 46 emerging artists from the Philadelphia region. This exhibition will be open to the public from November 4 through December 13 at the Gallery on the college’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road).
Esteemed photographer and educator Byron Wolfe has been selected as the jurist for this year’s exhibition. Wolfe, a professor and Art Department chair at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, brings a wealth of experience to the role, with his own work featured in over 30 renowned permanent collections, including those at The George Eastman Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
The exhibition aims to highlight the innovative efforts of local contemporary artists, fostering a space for critical dialogue and the exchange of ideas. As a jurist, Wolfe will not only select the featured works but also contribute to the exhibition’s educational goals through a Juror’s Talk. This event, scheduled for Thursday, November 14, at 4 p.m., will provide attendees with insights into Wolfe’s artistic journey and methodologies. The talk is free and open to the public, with both in-person and virtual attendance options available. Interested individuals are encouraged to register in advance.
The exhibition represents a diverse array of artistic expressions, showcasing talents such as Jessica Bednarcik, Kristina Ricci Behler, David Berger, and many others. These artists bring unique perspectives and innovation to the art scene, contributing to a rich tapestry that pushes the boundaries of contemporary art practice.
This annual event highlights Delaware County Community College’s efforts to promote art and culture within the local community. It represents a significant opportunity for emerging artists to gain visibility and engage with a broader audience, encouraging dialogue and appreciation for contemporary art.
