DELAWARE AND CHESTER COUNTIES, PA — Michelle Stover, a dedicated student at Delaware County Community College, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Dunkin’ Philadelphia Regional Scholarship. Stover, a mother of four and owner of a successful hair salon in Phoenixville, is one of 20 recipients selected from a competitive pool of over 1,260 applicants. The scholarship provides $5,000 to support her pursuit of higher education.

Stover’s academic excellence and leadership skills earned her an invitation to join the Beta Psi Pi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. Her hard work also secured her a place on the College’s President’s List in the spring of 2024. As a Communication Studies major, she reflects on her return to education after more than 20 years since graduating high school. She found encouragement in the diverse age range of students at DCCC, reinforcing her belief that it is never too late to pursue academic goals.

In addition to managing her salon, Stover is planning for a career shift. She aims to transition into a corporate role that offers a traditional work schedule, benefits, and opportunities for long-term financial security. Her commitment to education and career advancement sets a powerful example for her children, demonstrating that perseverance and dedication can lead to success at any stage of life.
