MEDIA, PA — From May 13 to May 15, Delaware County Community College (DCCC) will welcome individuals aged 55 and older to its Marple Campus for the 40th annual Return to Learn Week. Redesigned from its previous iteration as Elder Week, the three-day program combines enrichment, learning, and social interaction through a wide variety of workshops.

Participants can explore topics such as American Sign Language, Downsizing, Landscape Design, and Astronomy. Creative classes like Earring Making and Contemporary Short Stories will also be available alongside technology-focused sessions on smartphone basics. Those seeking physical activity may enjoy offerings like yoga, Tai Chi, or Qigong.

“There is literally something for everyone,” said Tricia Scepansky, DCCC’s director of Community Education, emphasizing the breadth of options available to attendees.

Most workshops will be held in the College’s STEM Center, a modern, accessible facility located adjacent to parking areas for convenience. Registration costs are set at $130 for the full three-day program or $115 for two days, which include access to up to eight classes, continental breakfasts, and catered lunches. Enrollment is open now, and spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective participants may register by phone using a credit card at 610-359-5025. The deadline for registration is May 9, with mail-in registrations also due by the same date. While the College cannot guarantee placement in specific classes, every effort will be made to accommodate preferences.

Return to Learn Week is an enriching tradition co-sponsored by the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging and DCCC. Looking ahead, the College hopes to further expand educational opportunities for older adults while fostering community engagement and lifelong learning.
