Dr. Rose’s lecture will reflect on the contributions of unsung individuals in South Florida’s Black Freedom Struggle and analyze how grassroots efforts across the South played a crucial role in forming Dr. King’s impactful legacy. Her insights into the Civil Rights and Black Power movements promise to offer a richer understanding of the struggles and milestones that defined an era of profound transformation in America.

This event, free and open to the public via livestream, is part of DCCC’s annual “Dialogues for Diversity” series, an ongoing initiative supported by the College’s Center for Equity and Social Justice. The series aims to foster a deeper understanding of critical equity issues and celebrate the work of trailblazers who have shaped the fight for social justice.
