HARRISBURG, PA — Seventh grader Ava Peabody from West Chester has been inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at Reach Cyber Charter School, joining 25 other students recognized for their outstanding achievements. The ceremony, held virtually on December 18, 2024, celebrated the hard work and dedication of students from across Pennsylvania.
“Congratulations to new inductees of the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society,” said Jane Swan, CEO of Reach Cyber Charter School. “Your excellence and achievements in scholarship, leadership, service, and character not only inspire your peers, but also remind us all of the incredible potential to positively impact the world within our school community.”
Membership in the NJHS is awarded to students in seventh through ninth grades who demonstrate leadership, service, and a strong academic performance with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Inductees must also receive a recommendation from a community member to qualify.
Once inducted, NJHS members participate in monthly meetings and community service projects such as the Book Buddies program, where they mentor younger students by reading to them and sharing career aspirations. Members are required to complete at least 10 hours of community service each school year.
