New Leadership at Chester County Intermediate Unit’s Learning Center

COATESVILLE, PA — The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has announced significant leadership changes at its Learning Center campus in Coatesville, appointing Hillary Soring as principal and Victor Brown as assistant principal. These appointments are pivotal for advancing the center’s mission of delivering specialized educational services.

Hillary Soring, who has been with the Learning Center since August 2022, steps into her new role following her tenure as the assistant principal. Her previous experience as a special education teacher in diverse support roles has prepared her well for this responsibility. Soring holds degrees from West Chester University and Wilkes University, along with a principal certification from Immaculata University. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership. Her dedication to special education is evident in her efforts to enhance academic and social-emotional outcomes for students.

“I am deeply honored and excited to step into the role of principal at The Learning Center,” Soring expressed. “Together, we will continue to advance our mission of excellence in special education, providing an individualized and supportive learning environment for students with unique and diverse needs.”

Victor Brown joins the Learning Center from Wilson High School, where he served as vice principal. His extensive background includes over 20 years in special education and a parallel career as a football coach. Brown’s educational credentials include a bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University and a master’s from Gratz College.

“I am excited to join the Chester County Intermediate Unit team and am eager to collaborate with the dedicated staff at the Learning Center,” Brown stated. “I look forward to working with the students and their families to help our students reach their fullest potential.”

Siobhan Leavy, CCIU’s director of Student Services, expressed confidence in the new leadership, saying, “Both Hillary and Victor have vast experience as special education teachers, coaches, and assistant principals. I am confident they have the skills and knowledge base to lead the Learning Center program and continue to provide our students with impactful special education services and create meaningful student outcomes.”

The appointments of Soring and Brown aim to foster an environment where staff and students can thrive. Their leadership is expected to drive the Learning Center forward, ensuring that it continues to meet the diverse needs of its students.
