WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department (WEGO PD) announced it is once again serving as a collection point for the annual Toys for Tots campaign. This initiative, spearheaded by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, is a public charity whose primary goal is to distribute new, unwrapped toys to less fortunate children during the holiday season.
A donation box is conveniently located in the lobby of the WEGO PD station, welcoming contributions from community members and businesses alike.
Last year, the Toys for Tots program was able to bring joy to over 16,000 children in Chester and Montgomery Counties, thanks to the generosity of the community. However, this year, the program anticipates shortfalls in donations for children aged two and under, and eight and above.
While all donations are gratefully accepted, the need is especially great for these age groups. Monetary contributions are also welcomed, with these funds being used to purchase additional gifts to supplement toy donations. For those interested in making a monetary contribution, a QR code is available for easy access to the online donation platform.
The WEGO PD, located at 1041 Wilmington Pike, West Chester, PA, will be accepting donations through Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
The Toys for Tots program is a testament to the power of community spirit, providing an opportunity for everyone to play a part in making the holiday season brighter for children in need. It’s not just about the toys; it’s about the message of hope and joy that each gift delivers.
The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department encourages everyone to contribute to this worthy cause. Whether it’s a toy truck, a doll, a book, or a monetary donation, every little bit helps and brings us one step closer to ensuring every child has a gift to open this holiday season.
For more information about the Toys for Tots program, individuals interested in donating or learning more are encouraged to visit the official Toys for Tots website.
Let’s come together as a community and make a difference this holiday season – because every child deserves a little Christmas.
