West Chester Secures $200,000 for Stormwater Infrastructure Repairs

Grants

WEST CHESTER, PAState Representative Chris Pielli, D-Chester, has announced the allocation of $200,000 in state funding to West Chester Borough for critical stormwater infrastructure upgrades. The grant, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will support efforts to address aging infrastructure and prevent stormwater runoff pollution.

“Pennsylvania has a multitude of important waterways that run through our communities, supplying millions of Pennsylvanians with clean drinking water. Unfortunately, too many of our waterways are being polluted by untreated stormwater runoff,” Pielli said. He emphasized the necessity of infrastructure improvements to prevent broader issues, noting that failure of a single storm drain could result in cascading problems ranging from minor inconveniences to major safety risks.

Pielli expressed gratitude to the Commonwealth Financing Authority and state Senator Carolyn Comitta for their roles in securing the funding, which aims to enhance safety and protect waterways in the borough.

The investment reflects the state’s commitment to environmental protection and community safety through targeted infrastructure projects.
